gesture hoop

Interactive Sculpture
Camille Utterback

San Francisco-based artist Camille Utterback contacted Moey for help when she wanted to build a hoop that allowed viewers to make a wish and throw the wish into a waterfall.

Moey fabricated the hoop, and built the electronics and interactives for it: Viewers were able to enter a wish onto a keyboard near the motion-sensitive hoop. Then, with a swing of the hand through the hoop, the typed wish was projected onto a waterfall across the room.
