Lamina

Sculpture
Justine Cooper

New York-based artist Justine Cooper contacted us to help her build an encasement for her piece, Lamina, a self-portrait of her DNA made from a microsatellite (a kind of genetic map). To her specifications, we designed and built a cylindrical light, its tubular encasement, and the mechanics that spun the DNA portrait in an appropriately helical fashion.
